Lido:

So many times I would walk around the ring walls of the Lido nestled within, sleeping in the quiet out of human reach most of the year. And every time, I would be reminded of it and my curious desire to know it from within. Transient as human streams and traffic are passing by and around it from the Riverbank into the Town Centre, it stands permanently there right in between. Silent as it is throughout most of the year, yet active as it still is, one of the rare remaining monuments of enclosed swimming pools from the ‘Roaring Years’. Oh yes, I knew why I fell in love with you from first sight. My favourite swimming water, my favourite architectural design style.

And so, I would keep coming by in my dreamy wish to perhaps meeting you in a proper visit. While, one day, out of your blue, I saw the long raw of your many other admirers queuing to enter in as you had opened your doors. The swimming season was on and all of a sudden I noticed it was the brightest sun-shining summer. My dream came true. And you were more than real.. How ethereal your blue heart was, I was not to miss the breeze refreshed by the looks and feel of it full of the clearest water. As your cheerful sign at the entrance welcomed my curiosity in thus your elegant interior enlivened a memory of lightness and the carefree old summer days.
