Abbey Park:

Abbey Park, my first encounter with my home town to be, back in times when none of us would know it. My encounter with you started from a small welcoming car park sheltered behind a respectful solid stone gate in front. Then, it was just a turn around and I was already finding my way into your non-anticipated sites I was on discover. First facing the tall masonry wall remnant of an old house opposite to the gate and walking through it I could feel the ghost feeling of it. Next, the alley with the tree was soon to reveal to me the vast open site of the field still bearing the foundations of the abbey was sat there in. It was a glimpse of you that opened the scene to the story.

Years after my guest visit ,I would come again but not as a guest any more. In the shared company of friends, we will continue the walk all around from the same tree sided alley to the playground along the canal cross the sturdy bridge above it by the beautiful pavilion around your lake on the other side and through more surprising meetups with your exotic Chinese garden to your other gate I would complete my discovery of you. I would learn about the old buildings and inhabitants that used to be your residents and all variety of years that shaped your layers and created in their styles and preference your looks. I would still think back about the mysterious old wall.

Years after my discovery walk, I would come again this time on my own, and I would start again from where I had first started and did it in the same old habit again. It would be a visit of contemplation and feeling of you. With my eyes gazing from the beautiful lonely bench further in the distance across the field with old foundations covered with black of ravens yoke. From that point of oblivion, I would come back to the present, to life with the sun caressing another tree sided alley, opposite, that only part of you left to be found by me. I would smile up, enliven, appreciate the blue thorn balls swinging in the wind, and flow out of you with water lilies of your pond.
