Wistow is a tiny little book full of amusing history. Taking on from the small deserted medieval hamlet mentioned in the Domesday Book a long time ago, we can reach back to the Mercian prince thought to have given his name to the village.

Winding down the narrow road from the hamlet, then comes the sight of St Wistan’s Church, impressive in every form and shape. We can feel the still air that embraces the seemingly humble structure straight from the opening of the entrance gate all the way through to the restful graveyard.
